Luxury Pooch Lofts
Our Luxury Pooch Lofts are a fancy schmancy modern day approach to more traditional boarding. They are designed for the discriminating dog that prefers quiet privacy combined with a very personalized stay.
These spacious lofts are 9’x10’ or 8’x 8’, climate controlled and each have their own color TV. Each loft is artistically designed with a unique city theme in mind. Choose from a selection including Seattle Bark a Latte, Gallery Santa Fe, South Beach Bungalow, Manhattan Highrise and Salon de Paris among others.
To individualize your dog's stay, choose from a variety of optional furnishings, activities, treats, toys and even parties. Activities include such fun stuff as massages, story telling sessions, cuddles & pats, a little bit of obedience, extra play times and, naturally, some doggy daycare time if they have passed their temperament test. Our activity packages are put together for your convenience with discounts built in!
At Urban Tails our staff are dedicated to minimizing the stress many dogs endure when they are away from you. We want each pet to enjoy his or her stay and we work hard to know each dog individually. We pride ourselves in fulfilling our tag line that at Urban Tails “all tails have happy endings”. Our facility is also one of the few in Houston that has a staff member on premises 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We want to ensure that we can respond immediately in the event of any emergency with a pet or our facility. To get started, complete & fax to us the appropriate enrollment forms prior to the day you need to drop your pet off. On occasion, we may request that your pet make a short visit to our facility prior to their first boarding stay. Each dog has a unique personality and based on information provided in the dog profile we may require this to ensure our facility can safely board your dog and that they will not be overly stressed during their stay. Plan to spend about an hour with us that first visit as we will spend time getting to know your pet and ensuring they are comfortable in their suite before you leave. After your first visit, all we need at check-in is the Sleepover & Loft Boarding Check-In, any Vaccination updates and your Healthy Pet Guarantee choice. Drop-offs and pick-ups for Loft Boarding are strongly encouraged to occur in accordance with the check-in and check-out times outlined. These times have been set to ensure the safety of all dogs in our center and to ensure your dog’s loft will be clean and available upon arrival. Special appointments outside of this policy must be pre-arranged with management and are subject to an additional fee. See our rates and policies page for more details. Multiple Pets in Lofts - We realize that same family dogs will enjoy their stay most when they are housed together. However, our lofts are much smaller than the space they are used to at home. Dogs that share a loft need to be able to eat meals together without supervision. Additionally, to ensure that all dogs have room to sleep and move comfortably, same family dogs sharing a loft are generally limited to a approximately: 3 dogs with a combined weight of 150 pounds or less 2 dogs up to 100 pounds each
If there is any question as to if a loft is sufficient to ensure the comfort and safety of same family dogs during there stay, an assessment will be made on arrival and appropriate quarters will be determined at that time.
-
A consistent diet is important for the health of your dog so we request that you bring food clearly labeled with your dog’s name and complete in detail the feeding instructions on the check-in form for each stay.
-
On days you drop off your dog, try to feed them early so they have at least an hour for food to digest prior to arrival.
-
After the stay- Your dog will be very excited to return home which can sometimes lead to an upset stomach. Limit access to food and water for the first 2-3 hours until your dog settles down to prevent any problems.
-
Even though it’s regular meal schedule was followed, and there was constant access to water, your dog may drink or eat to excess when it first gets home. We suggest offering a few ice cubes to your dog if it appears to be really thirsty.
Please call us immediately if you have any questions or concerns regarding your dog after a visit to Urban Tails. We want you to understand the boarding visit and your dog’s reaction to it. We will be happy to discuss any questions you might have.
