Our Philosophy
Urban Tails has equipped our spa with high quality equipment and products to ensure the best possible results in maintaining your pet’s coat. We offer bath and grooming services for both dogs and cats. We insist on humane grooming practices in our facility. What does this mean? It means that we place emphasis on comfort, safety and we work hard to minimize stress during the grooming process. Dogs are walked throughout the day and water is available in their holding areas.
De-matting times are strictly limited. Heating discs are provided for dogs who get cold and thick mats for older dogs with arthritis to make them more comfortable. Heck, they even get sung to by our some of our groom shoppe staff who, thank goodness, have pretty good voices!
We love puppies and old dogs! The young and the old both take a little more time, patience and loving through the bathing and grooming process. Puppies need patience as they learn to stand still while they are groomed and the nails are clipped. Seniors tire more easily and frequently have arthritis and other special health concerns that need to be taken into consideration as they are worked with. We have acquired quite the reputation among our customers for our gentle care of those with special needs that just need a little more hugging and kissing to make them.
BathingHydroSurge massaging baths use the luxurious TropiClean all natural shampoos made from botanical extracts with no soaps. Bath service includes brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning for all dogs. As we feel the powers that be created anal glands to work more than not, especially on a good diet, we only express anal glands upon request.
GroomingProfessional pet grooming includes the basic bath services and final styling based on your pet’s breed and your personal preference. Our goal is to provide a practical and attractive pet style for our clients. Ask to fill out our Grooming Instructions when you drop off your pet to help us make sure we give you exactly what you want in your pets' groom.
Shedd Control ProgramAre hairballs hiding in your corners? Is hair falling off your dog with each step? Are you tempted to shave off the coat? Join our Shedd Control Maintenance Program for 3 months and you'll never leave!!! This program works on all shedding breeds. The program includes: special shampoos and conditioners that keep the coat clean & strong; unique grooming techniques to remove loose, dead coat; an organic dietary supplement for skin & coat and monthly grooming (appointment required every 4 weeks or less).
Other StuffToothbrushing services are offered to assist in maintaining excellent dental hygiene. We offer a toothbrush club and recommend a weekly recurring schedule. Each dog gets their own toothbrush as a part of our club.
Brush out only – A brush out service is available to help in maintaining the coat in between grooms.
Nail clipping services can be scheduled independently.
Our bathing & grooming pricing is based on time involved in the bathing, drying & clipping process and may vary by dog. Standard prices are by breed or size for short-haired breeds. Coat types and condition within a breed may vary and result in adjustments to our standard pricing. Bath prices for puppies will generally be less than the adult price and increase until the puppy is full grown. Please contact us for an estimate on the cost to groom your pet.
